Teach your children well

Some of you may know my son. He's five years old and quite the player. Tonight I realized how cunning the little guys is. My wife was trying to have some one on one time with him while I watched a T.V. show with the other two. She was teasing him and saying " look in my eyes Trevy". He just kept giggling. Finally she asked him what was so funny. He responded by saying "I'm watching T.V. in your glasses mommy" and he just lost it he thought that was so funny. My mind quickly flashed to some years in the future and him sitting with his wife. "Yes honey I love yo.....TOUCHDOWN. That plsy was just awesome." It's good to know my son is learning how to get the most out of life.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He just doesn't visit your Mommy.

As the secondary writer on this brilliant and soon to be widespread forum, I would like to voice my own concerns about the presents given after the bonds of holy matrimony. First of all, it is difficult to exchange gifts with someone when the gifts are bought from the same communal pool. "I am going to buy you the nicest gift in the world, and it will only cost us the first year of our son's preschool tuition!" The concept is just not right. Second of all, when my wife buys everything for herself (with that same communal money, mind you) it is difficult to buy her something that perhaps she just hadn't thought of buying for herself yet. This is a frustrating dilemma which you can read more about on my personal blog under the blog entry The Gift of the Man-Guy. As for now, Matt and I welcome your comments as well as more topics that you would like to discuss. Join the movement for husband solidarity. Together, we can maybe convince our wives of something, just once.

A Christmas Story

So after 9 Christmas's with my wife I see myself as being quite thoughtful. Well not this year. I thought and thought for what I could possibly get my wife besides the soundtrack to "Twilight". So as Christmas eve was upon me I decided to get her a nice watch. Can't go wrong with that right. WRONG. As we were visiting my grandmother on Christmas Day my wife got talking to my cousin's wife. As I overheard the conversation I learned the error of my ways. Supposedly I was hinted to at least a couple of times that not only did she want the soundtrack but also the first two books of the twilight series. Mind you she had already read the entire series twice. I guess I don't take hints very well after all. So I bet you can guess what I was doing the day after Christmas. Yep, Barnes and Noble, to get the first two books.

Calling all Husbands

Hello all and welcome to Husband Solidarity. Cameron Smith and I have been sharing a few responses back and forth and thought it would be wise to start a blog that defended the position of husbands and fathers everywhere. So feel free to post you gripes, achievements and any funny moments you might have from your everyday lives and see you around.
